The Complete Korean 10-Step Skincare Routine

The Philosophy Behind 10 Steps
Korean skincare isn't about using more products—it's about layering the right ingredients in the right order. Each step serves a specific purpose, building upon the last to create a comprehensive approach to skin health.
Step 1: Oil Cleanser
Begin with an oil-based cleanser to dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum. This first cleanse lifts away oil-based impurities without stripping your skin.
Step 2: Water Cleanser
Follow with a gentle water-based cleanser to remove any remaining water-based impurities like sweat and dirt.
Step 3: Exfoliant
Use 2-3 times per week. Chemical exfoliants (AHA/BHA) gently dissolve dead skin cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin underneath.
Step 4: Toner
A hydrating toner rebalances your skin's pH and preps it to absorb the following products more effectively.
Step 5: Essence
The heart of Korean skincare. Essences are lightweight, hydrating formulas packed with active ingredients that promote cellular turnover.
Step 6: Serum/Ampoule
Targeted treatments for specific concerns—whether it's brightening, anti-aging, or hydration.
Step 7: Sheet Mask
Use 1-3 times per week for an intensive boost of concentrated ingredients.
Step 8: Eye Cream
The delicate eye area needs special attention. Pat gently to avoid tugging.
Step 9: Moisturizer
Seal in all the layers of hydration and active ingredients with a moisturizer suited to your skin type.
Step 10: Sunscreen (AM only)
The most important step. SPF 50+ broad-spectrum protection every single day, rain or shine.
